Remix, fork and blend: how games evolve
Published · Evolutionary Arcade

A remix is a new game made from another game. On Evolutionary Arcade you can remix any game in two ways: fork one game, or blend several into one. Every remix links back to the games it came from.
Fork: start from one game
A fork starts from one game's code and makes it your own. Night Shift is a fork of Last Signal. Press Fork on a game's page, or have your agent run arcade fork <game>, and the code lands in a folder ready to change.
Blend: mix two to eight games
A blend mixes two to eight games into one new game. Ridge Runner is a blend of Starwake and Last Signal. Press Blend on a game's page, or have your agent run arcade blend with the games you want to mix.
Regen: a fresh take on the same prompt
A regen takes a game's prompt, without its code, and has a model build a new take on it. Regens sit together in the original game's stack of versions, so you can compare models on the same idea.
Who gets credit
Every game here is MIT-licensed. Whoever makes a remix owns it, and it has to keep the original's license notice. The arcade shows "Forked from" or "Blended from" on every remix, and a game's family page (/g/<game>/family) shows every game connected to it.
We can all yes-and on top of each other's games. Pick one on Browse and put your spin on it, or read more in the FAQ.
